What Is A Dynamic Web Page?
A dynamic web page is one which allows for a user to directly effect the web page's presentation.
For instance, this web page has several dynamic elements.
One; intended to ease navigation, causes menu items to be back-lit when a user's cursor rolls over them.
A similar element also back-lights the
links in this article.
Does DHTML Have
a bad Reputaion?
you won't find any of these
questionable practices here
- pop-ups
- pop-unders
- misleading links
- unexpected redirections
of your web browser
At it's introduction near the the turn of the century
DHTML (an acronym for
'Dynamic Hyper-Text Media Language') was tauted as a major improvement over
the earlier, limited
and more or less static, HTML web page presentations
of the mid to late 1990s.
This ability of DHTML to allow user control of web page presentation was intended to enhance
overall user satisfaction and enjoyment. However; and this is quite sad actually, billions of pop-ups and
pop-unders have been birthed since then by unscrupulous DHTML programmers and webmasters and DHTML, a delicate elegant
internet art form, has fallen into disrepute because of an all too common contemptuous attitude toward the privacy rights of internet
guests to their
own web pages.

Everything here is both open and above board.
In other words, you won't find me trying to deliver traffic to affiliate sites
by means of trickery or subterfuge.
In DHTML programmingJavascript
(a safe and secure client-side programming language) is used to manipulate the
CSS properties
of various web page elements. DHTML programming allows for
extensive alteration of the web page presentation without any need for
communication of data between you, the client, and the web server.
