My name is Troy Pheil.
I am an independent web designer
altroent.com is my very own
registered web domain.
I call the place Altro Enterprises.
I have been the webmaster here
for more than a decade.
What I have done is
build web pages
and my goal from the beginning has been to build a better tomorrow.
This past winter I enrolled as a freshman student at an
online university My major was
web development and
I enrolled in the school because I had made a New Year's resolution the previous January.
My resolve was to focus my attentions and to approach life
in more traditional and directed way than had been my previous serendipitous manner,
My choice was to focus my attention on just four primary areas for concern.
and I made this list:
Due to an almost miraculous unfolding these last several decades
of the internet
and other digital communications
technologies it is now a reality each of us,
no matter how far apart we may be on this beautiful blue but beleaguered planet,
has the ability, the potential, to communicate directly and instantaneously with anyone.
This is both a good and a fortuitous development as
we need need to begin, and many have already begun, having a singularly sane, serious,
practical, and ultimately important conversation.
I think the conversation should start with asking ourselves and each other the most important question:
What do we need to do to assure a good outcome for us all?
What are we going to do with our limited time and limited resources to accomplish this?
For the time being at least ( although the discussion may be monitored), this conversation can not be controlled,
not by our current rulers or the powerful oligarchs they serve.
This web site strongly advocates for a free education. This advocacy is not a selfless act.
While none of us can know everything, each of us does know many things Some of these things we know are unique to us
and to us alone. No other shares our life, our experience, our awareness or our perception. By each of us actively
increasing our individual knowledge and sharing that knowledge with each other in an activated community we can become
the mega-mind. With that mind we can, will and must come to know some truth about what has been done to us,
about what is being done to us and about
what we need to do now in order.

Soon I will turn sixty. Three-quarters of my life gone by.
I would hope to serve wisely as an elder. Thus, it seemed
necessary to decide what will be important to me in my maturity.
My main focus these days is education. It is not my only focus though.
My hope is the work will hurry along the development of a sane, rational,
fair, and sustainable path forward for humanity; a path assuring
all of us
an opportunity to live
joyful, peaceful, and abundant lives.

I work to provide links to valuable resources for educating ones self. At times
I may well share the results of the self education process within me.
This is after all a public discussion and this web site is a part of my public voice.
In the video on the right Randy
sings a song about coming of age in America. He sings about coming to grips with the prevailing
ethos of western culture - materialism.
' ... in any fair system they
would flourish and thrive. Yet, they eek out a living. They barely
We 'the people' should have reaped more
from the multiple harvests of promise which were and are the industrial,
technological and digital revolutions.
In this day and in this time we can and must commit ourselves to the courses of action most likely to free mankind
from painful compulsions,
from limited choices and from inequalities of opportunity.
Together we can and must make suitable and plausible plans for action which seem most likely to assure future
peoples will have adequate resource to carry out their civic responsibilities while still providing
the leisure time and freedom necessary for
the enjoyment of good quality lives at home with family and friends.
It is to this goal and this task that I, this website and the movement I support are dedicated.
I registered altroent.com as my personal web domain in the spring of 2000.
I believed I had acquired, during five years of previous and serendipitous self-discovery
here on the internet, the necessary web design and other skills required to make money
building web pages.
and the first thing I felt I needed was a home for my anticipated virtual empire.
was the name of a previous small business partnership I had formed
in the 1980s when I still lived in St. Petersburg, FL.
My partners in that early venture were my cousin and a long loyal friend.
Our plans were to design, manufacture and market bio-friendly consumer products.
Nothing much ever came of that though.
In 1988 I quite unexpectedly found myself exiled from the family homestead in
St. Petersburg (see: Living in Exile ) to Cambridge Ohio.
I took the liberty of considering the name still available for my personal use.
The movement to educate the people
has no formal name or hierarchy. There doesn't seem to be an official
list of it's members/volunteers.
What I do here
- opinions I express, biases I show,
analysis or evaluation I
make - all of these are entirely my own.
Further progress in beneficial evolution in our human social, economic
and political means and commons requires it.
We must, as is expressed in a common american conservative values
colloquialism, 'lift ourselves up by our boot straps' and become what
Benjamin Franklin, a leading founder of the then fledgling American
'a well-educated citizenry'.
We will be called upon soon in our market places, in meetings places and
the public halls
of the world to reveal our own plans and our own ideas about what
must be done to save our world from imminent destruction.
When called our opinions and our ideas must be based on
real knowledge and on at least some factual information least we must find ourselves
simply reciting verbatum the latest
media message we've heard or we have seen on the subject.
Recitation is a meager substitute for an informed thoughtful
reasoning process. This is especially true in a time of suspected media manipulation.
